INDIAN TEC CERTIFICATION WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FOR THE THIRD AND FOURTH STAGES FROM OCTOBER 11th

The Indian Telecommunication Engineering Center (TEC) will enforce the mandatory approval requirements for MTCTE Phase 3 products as of July 1, 2022. On September 22, 2021, it announced that applications will be accepted starting from October 11, 2021. 

The products covered in the third stage of MTCTE are: 

Cellular network base station 

Cellular network repeater 

Compact cellular network 

Intelligent/Closed-Circuit Television Camera 

Smartwatch 

Smart electricity meter 

Tracking device 

Internet of Things Gateway 

Endpoint devices for environmental monitoring 

Devices operating in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands 

The fourth phase of MTCTE covers a total of 37 products. For electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility and safety, applications will be accepted starting from October 11, 2021, and certification must be carried out from February 1, 2022. For the remaining ER parameter section, applications will be accepted starting from January 1, 2022, and mandatory certification will be required from July 1, 2022. 

Furthermore, TEC announced that it will extend the period for accepting test reports from the first, second and third phases of ILAC-accredited laboratories. The acceptance period for the first and second phase test reports has been extended until November 30, 2021, and the third phase has been extended until June 30, 2022.

MTCTE


It is a mandatory certification for electronic communication products in the Indian market, also known as TEC certification. It was officially implemented on October 1, 2019. The MTCTE certification is divided into two types: the Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS) and the General Certification Scheme (GCS). 

Certification mark 

In the Indian market, equipment manufacturers (OEMs), importers and distributors of products must mark or affix the following information on the equipment: 

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or brand names 

Equipment name, model and serial number
