Malaysia's MCMC updates the short-range transmission product (SRD) technical standards
On May 6, 2020, Malaysia's MCMC updated the technical standard for short-range transmission products (SRD) (MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2020). This standard will serve as the new version standard for Malaysia's wireless SRD products, replacing the previous version MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2014.
Main updates:
According to the instructions of the Class Assignment No. 2 of 2019 document released last year, the list of frequency bands that can be used for Malaysian general or specific SRD products, as well as the corresponding maximum output power limits, have been updated.
2. New requirements related to the application of wireless transmission technologies such as Ultra-Wideband (UWB), inductive devices, and automotive radars have been added.
3. For products that directly connect to the operator's network, such as mobile terminals, home gateways, and routers, additional considerations need to be made regarding MS IEC 60950-1/IEC 62368-1 or other applicable safety standards. The product EMC report also needs to be evaluated.
