On April 1, 2020, the BIS Bureau of India announced that the following 12 types of products are included in the mandatory registration scope of BIS certification. 

For all the product categories mentioned in the list, the standards and those issued and notified by BIS will come into effect on October 1, 2020. The BIS marking for these products will be mandatory from January 1, 2021.
