Update of Electromagnetic Compatibility Standards

2021-03-10

The official release date of GB/T 4343.2-2020 "Electromagnetic Compatibility Requirements for Household Appliances, Electric Tools and Similar Devices - Part 2: Immunity" is December 14, 2020, and the official implementation date is July 1, 2021. It will replace GB/T 4343.2-2009 at that time. Compared with the old version, the main technical changes are as follows:

GB/T 4343.2-2020

5.1:

This is for the electrostatic test on the connection plug and socket ("A contact discharge of 4KV should be applied to the conductive and contactable parts. Such as the battery compartment or the metal contacts in the socket are excluded.") It indicates that there is no need to test the contacts. GB/T 17626.2-2018 includes detailed instructions on how to handle electrostatic discharge (ESD) on contacts and other surfaces. At the same time, the basic standard GB/T 17626.2-2018 requires discharging on horizontal coupling boards (HCP) and vertical coupling boards (VCP).

5.3 and 5.4

According to the DC power port test table of GB/T 17626.6-2017, it aligns with the general standard. The same applies to 5.3 and 5.4.

For EUTs that use single-wire cables and have no other cables, the test setup shown in Figure 2 of the standard should be used. The setup described in Annex F of GB/T 17626.6-2017 should not be employed.

5.5

GB/T 17626.22-2017 serves as an alternative method for radiation immunity testing

5.6

Line-to-ground surges are not applicable to products without grounding.
