What is SDoC and how to conduct the FCC SDoC self-declaration?

2024-09-30

  SDoC, which stands for Supplier's Declaration of Conformity, is a test conducted by the equipment supplier to verify that the equipment complies with the specified standards or requirements. Equipment that meets the requirements must provide relevant documents (such as the declaration document of SDoC) to prove it to the public. Now, we will summarize some common issues encountered when applying for FCC SDOC certification. We hope this can help your product successfully pass the FCC SDOC certification.

  For the FCC SDoC, a declaration document needs to be provided by the responsible party before the goods can be shipped and sold. How can one find the responsible party?

  The FCC of the United States has made regulations regarding the responsible party, with the aim of enabling the United States to identify the responsible party in case of market inspections. Therefore, the following regulations have been made for the responsible party:

  1) The responsible party must be a local company in the United States;

  2) The liable party can be the manufacturer, assembler, or importer;

  3) The responsible party must ensure that during the FCC market inspection, they can provide the products, test reports, and relevant records, etc., in order to guarantee that the products comply with the FCC SDoC procedure.

  4) The responsible party should incorporate the compliance declaration documents into the accompanying files of the equipment.

  It is suggested that the client directly choose the importer or find some local agency companies in the United States to act as the responsible party.

  Regarding the content of the FCC SDoC statement document, are there any specific requirements? According to FCC Regulation 2.1077, the content of the statement document should include:

  1) Product information: such as product name, model, etc.

  2) FCC compliance warning message;

  3) Information on the name, address, contact number or internet contact details of the responsible party in the United States; The declaration document is required to be shipped and sold along with the product;

  Regarding the FCC SDoC declaration document, in what form should it be shipped? The declaration document can take the following two forms:

  1) As a separate page, together with the instruction manual, it is attached to the product and shipped along with it (Note: Each product requires it, not issued according to the shipping batches)

  2) Simply include all the necessary information specified in the declaration document in the user manual and proceed with the shipment.
