US FCC Certification

FCC certification, also known as the Federal Communications Commission certification in the United States, is a type of testing and validation for the electromagnetic compatibility of electronic products.

 

The types of FCC certifications include: FCC ID and FCC SDOC.


Specific product type

FCC ID Certification

 

Wireless phones, remote controls for automatic doors, radio-controlled toys, security alarm systems

The equipment that intentionally emits radio frequency energy as stipulated in Part 15 

(For example, wireless keyboards, mice, Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi routers, etc.) 

The industrial, scientific research and medical equipment for general consumers as stipulated in Part 18 

(For example, some wireless medical monitoring devices, industrial wireless remote control devices, etc.)

FCC SDOC Certification

 

Home computers and peripherals, civilian radio receivers, other receivers in accordance with FCC Rule Part 15, television interface equipment, cable system terminal equipment, and industrial, scientific and medical equipment for general consumers as per Part 18.


FCC Certification Process: 

Determine the certification type: Based on the product characteristics, choose either FCC ID or FCC SDOC; 

2. Submission of Materials: Provide the application form for certification, product labels, instructions, etc. 

3. Business Confirmation: Confirm the scope of services, issue a formal quotation and sign a cooperation agreement; 

4. Sample testing: The laboratory conducts specialized tests in accordance with the corresponding FCC standards. 

5. Report Generation: After the test is successful, a formal test report in accordance with FCC standards will be produced. 

6. Review and Issuance/Registration/Approval: 

· FCC ID, submitted to TCB for review. Once approved, the FCC ID certificate will be obtained. 

· FCC SDOC: The certification authority issues the FCC SDOC certificate. 


FCC certification requires the submission of the following documents: 

FCC application form (including the name and address of the applicant, contact information, product details, usage standards, etc.) 

2. Product manual / Instruction manual 

3. Product Label 

4. Schematic Diagram 

5. Block Diagram 

6. Information of the US agent and US importer (contact person's phone number, address, etc.) 

7. U.S. Agent's Entrusted Agency Authorization Agreement
